IT Support Technician

Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions seeking an IT Support Technician to join our client, a major investment services agency. downtown Toronto. The ideal candidate will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the technical computer support. S/he will provide Tier I support: identifying and resolving customer’s technical issues in a timely and appropriate manner.


Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Support industry leading software used within the company via phone, email, web and remote access.
  • Handle internal IT Helpdesk tickets – 1st tier support for both internal staff and Reservoir.
  • Escalates difficult IT tickets to 2nd tier support.
  • Testing various systems and log monitoring to ensure proper system uptime.
  • Prepares new laptops for employee laptop upgrades or new employee onboarding.
  • Assist with creating and deactivating user accounts for most IT systems.
  • Creates backups and archives of all files for exiting employees (offboarding checklist).
  • Inventory management of toners, supplies, IT accessories, and mobile devices.
  • Assists with printer maintenance, resolving printer jams, and document printing issues.
  • Performs software upgrades, plugin updates, and other IT system maintenance.
  • Makes changes to phone system, Rogers cell phones, and other user accounts.
  • Troubleshoots issues related to NetDocuments, Salesforce, and Office 365.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related IT tasks as needed.

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • College diploma or University degree in a technical field or equivalent from two-year College or technical school.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Azure.
  • Prefer an MCP, MCSA or MCTS certification as well as A+ or. Network+ certification is a plus.
  • Experience with a 24×7 Support Operation and Level II, III support preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 8 Pro and Windows 10 Pro desktop support and maintenance as well as knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016.
  • Hardware experience with servers and workstations is required.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, Microsoft Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, configuring and maintaining anti-virus software, Windows Updates, IIS, Terminal Services.
  • Familiarity with database software such as Access, SQL Server or MySQL a plus.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software or any proprietary software product is a plus.
