Job Description
Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions is hiring Cerner Millennium Solution Architect/Engineers for one of its clients. Senior Cerner Consultants will play a vital role in contributing to the design, development, and implementation of Cerner solutions within 3 discrete areas:
- Core Foundations
- Surgery and Anesthesia
- Ambulatory Solutions
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture: Collaborate with clients to understand their healthcare business requirements, assess existing systems, and design comprehensive Cerner solutions. Develop architectural designs, and technical specifications to guide implementation teams.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to project teams, including developers, analysts, and other consultants, ensuring adherence to best practices and Cerner standards; assist resources in growing their understandings and skills in informatics designs and Cerner functionality.
- Project Estimation and Risk Analysis: Inform the planning and execution of EHR project work. Identify any gaps/issues/risks in project scope, project plans, and resources from the perspective of Cerner Operations.
- Requirements Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of client requirements and translate/document them into technical specifications and system configurations.
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of Cerner solutions with other healthcare systems, such as EMR, billing, and laboratory systems. Provide guidance to technical teams to ensure seamless data exchange and interoperability.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Inform on test strategies and plans to validate the functionality, performance, and interoperability of Cerner solutions. Conduct thorough quality assurance reviews/audits to ensure compliance with industry best practices and client requirements. Support and promote ITIL standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Necessary Skills
- Extensive experience (typically 5-8+ years) working as a Cerner Consultant or Architect, with a focus on healthcare IT implementations.
- Strong expertise in Cerner applications, modules, and technologies, including Cerner Millennium, PowerChart, FirstNet, SurgiNet, PM Office, Scheduling, Revenue Cycle, and Clinical Documentation.
- Proven experience in solution architecture, including designing and implementing complex Cerner solutions in large-scale healthcare environments.
- Solid understanding of system integration methodologies, including HL7 interfaces, data migration, and interoperability standards.
- In depth knowledge of Cerner Millennium data models used in applications and workflows within your specialty area.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with experience mentoring application analysts in acquiring Cerner expertise.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
