Job Description
Live Assets | Railway Staffing Solutions is looking for a Construction Procurement Specialist for one of our clients, a Transit Infrastructure leader in Canada, to support a dynamic team in this complex P3 design and construction transit project in the Greater Toronto Area.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for managing the strategic acquisition of materials and services for construction projects. You will develop and execute sourcing strategies, ensure customer satisfaction, manage vendor performance, and oversee contracts. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and business sense. You will also collaborate with the procurement team to achieve project goals.
- Execute procurement plans aligned with project policies, procedures, budgets, and strategies.
- Oversee the preparation of bid documents, analyze bids, and recommend supplier selection. This includes crafting the sourcing strategy, bid packages, supplier agreements, and ensuring a clear scope of work.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to capture all cost factors.
- Manage relationships with vendors and internal teams on procurement matters.
- Negotiate and prepare contracts, including issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Support the procurement team with daily activities.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of procurement or purchasing experience.
- Relevant post-secondary education or work experience.
- Knowledge of strategic procurement, best practices, import regulations, competitive bidding, market conditions, and construction contract terms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present strategies clearly and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Results-oriented with excellent time management and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Adaptability and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Analytical skills to interpret complex data and draw sound conclusions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
