Job Description
Live Assets | Transit Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contracts Administrator to join a leading transit project of our client in Canada. You will support the administration of contracts for major construction projects, working closely with the contracts and procurement department.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer designated packages of materials, equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects.
- Collaborate with construction, project management, engineering, and other teams to ensure deliverables meet project requirements.
- Work with procurement on subcontract formation, including insurance, bonds, and milestone payments.
- Expedite subcontractor deliverables, including progress reports and documentation submissions.
- Process internal requisitions for purchase orders, change orders, and subcontracts.
- Negotiate and issue change orders and subcontract amendments after project management approval.
- Review and respond to claims from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare potential claims against subcontractors and suppliers.
- Lead site progress meetings with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
- Liaise with the Contract Manager on commercial issues related to the main contract.
- Ensure compliance with project quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of practical contract administration or procurement experience in a similar role.
- Experience in heavy civil, electrical instrumentation, and mechanical engineering environments.
- Knowledge of construction processes and methods.
- Proficiency in preparing and issuing procurement documentation.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
