Job Description

Live Assets | Transit Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contracts Manager to join a leading transit project with one of our clients in Canada. You will play a critical role in overseeing the procurement and management of contracts for all systems work packages, ensuring successful project delivery. You will be responsible for the entire contract lifecycle, from negotiation and finalization to ensure flawless execution and closeout.


Responsibilities

  • Spearhead developing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for various systems, including signaling, telecommunications, and electrification.
  • Champion contractual compliance throughout the project, safeguarding adherence to legal requirements and project standards.
  • Oversee the complete procurement process, guaranteeing the timely acquisition of high-quality materials and services that meet project specifications.
  • Foster strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, building reliable supply chains that deliver on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams (project management, legal, logistics, etc.) to ensure contracts align with project objectives and timelines.
  • Proactively manage risks by conducting thorough assessments and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to project teams on contractual matters and best practices.
  • Maintain meticulous contract documentation and deliver insightful reports on contract status, issues, and performance metrics for stakeholders.
  • Address logistical challenges head-on, minimizing disruptions to project schedules.
  • Work with the RAM team and inventory managers to maintain optimal levels of consumables and spare parts.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in contract management, procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within the infrastructure or construction industry.
  • An in-depth understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and supply chain logistics.
  • A proven track record of successful contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with diverse teams.
