Job Summary
On behalf of our client, one of Canada’s largest aviation companies, we are looking for an Intermediate Data Integration Specialist. The data integrator role is a key contributor and solution provider on our big data challenges, expanding the data warehouse and providing data across porter for applications and analytics. The role will use many existing and new products offered by AWS and Google to advance the use of data.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- 3 + years of experience using open source programming languages such as Python, Scala, or R.
- 3 + years of experience developing data integration (ETL) processes using tools such as Matillion, Microsoft SSIS, Pentaho, Talend.
- Experience working with big data technologies and tools such as Hadoop or Spark.
- Experience analyzing data using Google Sheets or Excel
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) products and services, especially Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, EMR, or RDS
- Actively participate in Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations, understand, comply with and promote Company Safety Policy.
- Responsible for improving data quality and integrity in the data warehouse.
- Maintain and support multiple projects, working with the technology teams, project managers, and business groups.
- Develop and maintain ETL and data integration processes between internal and external systems.
- Work with business groups to define and document requirements for data projects.
- Expand and enhance the data areas in the data warehouse.
- Provide guidance and assistance to business and technology groups on their data needs.
- Provide support for data processes after hours when needed.
- Any other duties as requested by the Director.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience developing data integration and ETL solutions.
- 3 to 5 years of experience designing and developing big data or data warehouse solutions.
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or similar degree preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of database design, data warehouse methodologies and data techniques.
- Excellent SQL experience with cloud based database systems such as AWS Redshift and Google BigQuery.
- Experience with various SDLC methodologies and requirements gathering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to communicate with business stakeholders, project teams and project managers.
- Experience with AWS products and services including S3, RDS, Lambda, Redshift, Kinesis, Sagemaker, Athena, and EMR.
- Experience with Google products and services including Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience in the travel or airline industry is an asset.
