Job Description

Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions is hiring a Director, IT Operations for our client, a leading Veterinary Provider. The Director, IT Operations is responsible for managing IT employees, IT hardware and software, Equipment procurement, and tracking.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT hardware and applications.
  • Provide and oversee direct user support through the Helpdesk, ensuring compliance with service level standards.
  • Continuously improve service levels and distribute service metrics.
  • Develop, document, and communicate support processes.
  • Organize and monitor team training and development, and review team performance.
  • Provide high-priority support to data extraction teams and manage IT vendor relationships.
  • Handle and resolve branch escalations promptly.
  • Act as a liaison between the help desk and ongoing projects to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Address high-priority requests and urgent matters to maintain service quality.
  • Facilitate cross-collaboration and IT integrations with other teams and departments, to ensure cohesive operations and successful implementation of IT solutions.

 

Necessary Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum ten years of progressive experience in IT operations, including managing Microsoft software stack, network design and administration, project management, and IT security.
  • At least five years of experience supervising IT team members, with a focus on team development and performance improvement.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple IT projects and conflicting priorities, ensuring successful project handovers.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting service level goals and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Experience in vendor management, including managing relationships and ensuring quality Service.
  • Proven ability to handle and resolve escalations and high-priority issues promptly.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Proficiency in IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and tools, such as ITIL and ServiceNow.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
