Job Description
Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions seeks a skilled Laboratory Informaticist Consultant for a government client. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and streamline processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaboration and Planning:
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Medical Director, Technical Coordinator, and Manager in planning, implementing, and monitoring LIS-related services, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in change management processes, including the Laboratory Change Advisory Board, JORC, and CORC.
- System Enhancement and Support:
- Identify, develop, and document new functions and processes in Laboratory Informatics, contributing to DCW content and maintenance.
- Support the efficient operation of LIS, including system design, documentation, and development of new components.
- User Support and Training:
- Provide user support for LIS implementations and updates, attending meetings and offering specialist expertise.
- Contribute to LIS end-user application training scripts and assist in training delivery.
Required Skills
- Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years in clinical or applications analysis within healthcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of Cerner Lab Solutions.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in system configuration, system audits/queries, and design.
- Experience with JIRA and/or Confluence is advantageous.
- Expertise and Contributions:
- Application of knowledge to improve operational workflows and streamline processes.
- Consultation on advanced features and proper use of Cerner applications and core systems.
- Workflow and Collaboration:
- Experience in ambulatory clinics and acute care units’ workflows related to lab order management.
- Collaboration with Lab Informatics teams and clinical SMEs.
- Communication and Decision Support:
- Production of detailed content to support decision-making with governance boards.
- Awareness of complex healthcare environments and their interconnectivity.
