Network Architect

In behalf of our client, one of Canada’s biggest retail companies, we are looking for a Network Architect that she/he is going to collaborate with a team of architects, designers, and engineers in order to develop and implement network solutions, which enable various lines of business.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Provide costing estimates for Network services
  • Act as subject matter expert for the Enterprise Network including stores, distribution, office, third party, and data centre environments
  • Work with third parties regarding connectivity and consumption of hosted services
  • Create and publish Network blueprints, design specifications and standards
  • Evaluate emerging Network and security technologies and identify potential use cases within the organization
  • Engage various lines of business to document solution requirements and formulate a plan to address the business need​
  • Provide knowledge transfers and hand offs to supporting Network and Security teams
  • Work closely with the Network and Security operations teams to oversee implementation and integration of Network services
  • Contribute towards the development of architectural blueprints and focus on the development of Network technology roadmaps
  • 10 years of experience in Networking/ IT environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to understand business requirements and produce desired outcomes
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches and ASR, and ISR routers
  • Experience implementing and supporting L2/L3 Check Point firewalls and Bluecoat proxies
  • Experience implementing and supporting ADCs such as Citrix NetScaler SDX/VPX
  • Able to manage multiple projects and prioritize deliverables
  • Experience in developing Network technology roadmaps and strategies
  •  Experience testing and implementing new technologies (e.g. SDN or SDWAN)
  • Good knowledge if IP networks including implementing IPv6
  • Expert understanding of routing protocols; OSPF and BGP
  • Cisco CCNP, CCIE, CISSP an asset
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
