On behalf of our client, one of Canada’s largest non-profit organizations, we are looking for a Project Manager. The ideal candidate should be flexible, detail-oriented, and have excellent interpersonal skills. The Project Manager oversees the project definition, prioritization and successful delivery of a defined portfolio of projects. This position tracks and resolves resource contention and manages the technical inter dependencies of multiple projects. We are looking for a project manager that have a demonstrated ability to self–motivate and follow through on projects, be able to deliver results while dealing with ambiguity, and be able to anticipate and manage risk and change in a highly dynamic environment. Having an eye for process improvement is also critical, as we will look to the Project Manager for input on how to evolve our current processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a methodology of portfolio management as well as share portfolio management expertise and provide governance, training and support as needed to other staff.
- Prepare all communication plans and related project status reports for key stakeholders, including updates on deliverables and the presence of risks and their corresponding mitigation strategies.
- Lead, manage and track complex projects across multiple departments, as well as integrative projects with the broader developmental services sector within the assigned area of expertise.
- Coordinate and prioritize the assigned portfolios, including establishing and maintaining the project and portfolio KPI’s and dashboards.
- Support the completion of other projects being led by other project managers within the PMO.
- Define and implement change and process management strategies and plans.
- Identify, assess and prioritize how project risks will be avoided or mitigated throughout the life cycle of the project.

- Ability to coordinate a number of complex projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitment
- Experience in all elements of project management including contracting, negotiating, accounting, conducting cost benefit and opportunity analyses, developing strategic plans and developing tactical action plans are required.
- Highly disciplined work control skills, ability to effectively manage competing priorities, pay careful attention to detail, establish and implement plans, organize and achieve results with others on time and within budget.
- Understanding of change and process management principles with preferred experience in Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodology.
- Experience working in matrix environments and PMO offices
- Experience working closely with and guiding steering committees
Other Requirements & Office Environment
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in is required with preference given to computer science, math, engineering or other related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Scrum Master certification is strongly desired.
- 3+ years of project management experience through the entire development life cycle including defining requirements, process development, application/database design, development, testing and deployment of medium to large-scale complex business application solutions.
- Must be proficient in using project management related Microsoft Office products including: Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Visio and Excel.
- Strong IT knowledge and understanding of architecture and networks (IT specialist role only).
- Moderate to fast paced office environment with tight deadlines and multiple internal and external contacts.
- Monday to Friday, standard office hours; occasional extended hours with some local travel expected on occasion.
