Job Description
Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions is hiring for a skilled and experienced Transit Systems Project Manager for a full-time role. The ideal candidate will lead multimillion-dollar transit construction projects, ensuring on-time completion and top-quality standards. Additionally, will have experience constructing a transit-related maintenance facility, and extensive experience working with transit systems – signalling, Overhead Catenary Systems, track work, cabling, etc. Utilize your 10+ years of rail systems experience and strong educational background to drive project excellence. Manage project timelines, budgets, safety, and stakeholder collaborations. Apply your expertise in transit systems and construction management to optimize project schedules and financial targets.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project, ensuring compliance with project-specific safety programs, health and safety standards, and relevant OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes.
- Develop and administer the project quality program to ensure the proper supply of materials and adherence to project specifications.
- Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop and maintain construction schedules to meet milestones and completion dates.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support project progress.
- Provide strong leadership to construction team members, leveraging individual and group strengths to achieve project objectives.
- Identify and manage opportunities and risks to optimize project schedule and financial targets.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records for the project, including forecasts and billings.
- Supervision and management of all on-site staff within the transit system functional group and will manage subcontractors.
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years of experience in rail systems on major construction projects exceeding $500 million.
- Completed education in Construction, Engineering, or related disciplines is a strong advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of transit systems and subsystems is essential.
- Proficient negotiation and management skills.
- Ability to effectively plan and manage project schedules.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with multiple stakeholders.
- Capability to anticipate constructability issues in moderately to complex situations and develop solutions within the construction plan and schedule.
- Strong influencing and persuasive skills.
- Proven track record of building successful teams and promoting teamwork through motivation, coaching, and consensus-building.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
