We are seeking a Sr. Data Architect to join our development team. The candidate will be responsible for delivering insights to our clients through data analysis as well as for the development and testing of quantitative models for business problems such as forecasting and ROI analysis. Reporting to the Chief Architect, working across the Architecture, Development & Operations teams, this role will build alignment for data architecture, management & analytics solutions, standards and practices. Roll up your sleeves and implement your recommendations in collaboration with team members, vendors, and stakeholders while bringing the technical leadership, team collaboration, maturity and background of your experience in a data intensive environment. Our intent is to build a data architecture practice that continuously improves the company’s maturity and capability in data architecture, management and analytics.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Broad and deep experience with data management patterns:
- Master Data Management (Authoring, Cleaning, Data Quality).
- Transaction Processing (Including Operational Data Stores & distributed persistence).
- OLAP + Business Intelligence (Data Warehouse, Data Mart).
- noSQL
- ETL & data transformation.
- Data Architecture at the conceptual, logical and physical layers.
- Significant modelling experience.
- Domain Driven Design & Architecture.
- Solution architecture for data management systems.
- Ability to lead reverse engineering of current state based on existing legacy data models.
- Data modelling in Sparx Enterprise Architect using UML & forward engineering to DDL.
- Experience with Microservices Architectural Style and data management in highly distributed systems.
- Business experience in a SaaS or product development environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of data modeling.
- Deep understanding of database technologies sufficient to provide oversight and guidance during physical model development with technologies like AWS Redshift, MariaDB and MS-SQL SEVER.
Desirable Experience:
- >10 years data modelling experience in complex enterprise or SaaS environments.
- ANSI ASC X12 data formats.
- QLIK or similar BI software system(s).
- National Retail Federation ARTS Operational, Analytical & POSLOG data models.
- OASIS Universal Business Language data definitions.
- JasperSoft JasperReports
- Open source software, especially in the data management area
- Supply Chain, or Loyalty industry experience
