Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions is hiring a Sr. Manager, Systems Assurance for a key client in the transit industry. This is a significant role within a major construction entity based in Toronto, offering substantial opportunities for career advancement.

 

Responsibilities

As the Sr. Systems Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the overall safety of the project, serving as the primary point of contact for all safety-related communications. Your responsibilities include leading the delivery of safety management and system assurance, encompassing construction safety, safety assessment, RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety), and SIL (Safety Integrity Level).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Safety and Systems Assurance Standards and CMREA.
  • Oversee consistency and completeness of safety requirements specifications.
  • Support the creation of Design and Construction Certificates.
  • Apply safety design principles and standards.
  • Create and execute System Safety Plan, Safety Policy, RAM Plan, and more.
  • Establish safety governance structure, processes, and committees.
  • Lead Engineering Safety and Assurance Cases.
  • Coordinate safety activities with client representatives and Independent Safety Assessors.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on safety to the entire project staff.
  • Offer safety-related input to the project team for incorporation into the design.
  • Provide training to improve work performance and acquaint employees with safety policies.
  • Set goals for Safety professionals within the team.
  • Supervise teams of 5 to 10 direct reports and numerous indirect.

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering from an accredited university or a related discipline.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.); in-depth knowledge of applicable railway laws.
  • Experience in the application of EN (CENELAC) Standards.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic, business, and operational plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management principles.
  • Hands-on knowledge of applicable labor laws and collective agreement provisions.
  • Senior leadership expertise with project management skills.
