SUMMARY

The IT Systems Administrator is part of a team responsible for the day-to-day administration, operation, and support of the company’s Active Directory, Windows Server 2008R2, and Google Apps services environment. Operates and helps to improve the efficiency of the Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server environment distributed across several sites in Canada. Includes operational maintenance as well as direct technical support of all servers, workstations and mobile computing assets of the company. Works closely with IT and Operations leadership to effect migrations, upgrades and improvements to IT systems. Provides feedback and reports on operating conditions, and works to identify security vulnerabilities

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Technical Support of servers, workstations and mobile assets
  • Management and support of Active Directory user accounts and credentials
  • Management and support of Google Apps user accounts and credentials
  • Operating system support, patching of Windows Server 2008R2
  • Limited maintenance, support, patching of Linux servers
  • Execution and maintenance of Active Directory Group Policy
  • Execution and maintenance of all back-up and disaster recovery policies
  • Maintenance of physical networking assets (wired and wireless networks)
  • Maintenance of communication systems (VoIP and analog PBX)
  • Perform audits using AD toolkit and tools provided to identify security vulnerabilities
  • Participate in training and demonstrations of new systems to staff
  • 10% travel to sites across the GTA
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director, IT
