Technical Writer

We are currently looking for a Technical Writer to join one of our client, one of Canada’s largest nonprofit organizations. The Technical Writer will assist with the preparation of documentation

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the scope of technical writing within projects and manage independent work planning and execution to meet project deadlines.
  • Work cross-departmentally to identify gaps in documentation and collect relevant information from SMEs.
  • Work on continuous improvement to existing documentation in terms of structure and content.
  • Update technical documents on existing ERP, CRM systems.

What you bring to the team:

  • Technical Writer Certificate with 5-7 years’ of relevant experience.
  • Candidates should be self-starters, have a hands-on approach and capability to work independently and with a diverse group of operators and engineers.
  • Candidates must possess superior communication skills (verbal/written) and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Candidates must demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with digital documentation and/or technical writing authoring tools is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Visio.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of professionals at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint or a similar document management system an asset.
