Live Assets I.T. Staffing Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer to join our client, a leading global provider of enterprise software and services in downtown Toronto. The ideal candidate is responsible for creating, developing, planning, writing and editing operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for multimedia or web-based publications, from planning stage through delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Designs, creates, updates, and maintains user assistance deliverables: online Help, training materials, user’s guides; release notes; installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and quick reference guides, demonstration videos
- Strong understanding of technical writing processes to produce a consistent level of accuracy and timeliness
- Regularly reviews documentation for grammar, consistency, and technical accuracy
- Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors Technical Communications, English, Journalism or related
- field or equivalent experience and / or professional certification
- 5+ years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
- Knowledge of databases, client-server and cloud-based applications.
- Experience with RoboHelp, Framemaker, Word, Captivate, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Knowledge of HTML/XML/DITA/Structured Authoring is an asset
- Extraordinarily strong oral and written communication skills
Travel:
- Occasional travel including overnight domestic or international trips may be required.
