Live Assets | I.T Staffing Solutions seeking for an IT Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall IT/IS function in Canada including IS strategy, budgeting, data management, implementation of IS solutions, vendor management, managing applications and infrastructure components and service providers. Provides leadership and works extensively with Canada leadership team and business unit representatives, and all levels of IS staff and IS external partners. Combines business and process knowledge and technical skills.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business leaders in Canada to assess, document, prioritize the needs of the business unit, and draft a Joint Business Plan (JBP) focused on addressing the major capability gaps and/or IT opportunities for the business unit. Define and align the IT agenda for the business unit.
  • Interacts with external partners in managing services for business applications, infrastructure components and projects, being responsible for managing and overseeing the operation and support.
  • Collaborate with the global team to ensure the IT initiatives/projects prioritized will be developed and implemented in the region following the global processes and standards. Ensure that the right resources are allocated and follow up closely the IT initiatives/projects in the region in order to have them successfully implemented. It also Interacts with the global team in developing strategy for Canada and managing services for business applications, infrastructure components and projects, being responsible for overseeing the IS operation and support for Canada.
  • Manage and develop the team in Canada ensuring targets are met and activities are delivered as planned, providing challenges, guidance and coaching. Manage IS budgeting to ensure cost targets are met and perform other administrative activities to ensure audit and SOX controls and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain the strategic vision and 3 year capability roadmap for the business unit. Ensure that the vision aligns with the business strategy and the global strategy.

 

Leadership/Managerial Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years progressive responsibility within Information Technology or related field, including 5 years as Project Manager of projects involving resources from multiple functions or business units.
  • Develop Strategy for Canada aligned with the global strategy and with the Canada leadership team;
  • Prioritize and implement IT projects for Canada, ensuring the business and technical requirements at met;
  • Manage IS services (internal or external) as service desk, field service, disaster recovery, network and others for Canada.
  • Work closely with business functions to identify data requirements (customer & consumer) and build a long term data strategy.
  • Manage internal clients, understand requirements and ensure priorities are set considering cross-functional analysis.
  • Coordinate the service transitions from services, applications, infrastructure and organization structure standpoint, according to business objectives.
  • Ensure the information security policies are being followed according to global standards.
  • Manage IT budget, service providers contracts/agreements, audit and SOX controls and compliance;
  • Guarantee alignment of the local IT model with company’s global standards.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Very good understanding of the business processes such as order to cash, requisition to payment, general accounting, fixed assets, planning and production, human resources.
  • Good understanding of the IT components and architecture such as applications, database, operating systems, network and overall infrastructure.
  • Good communication skills and ability to translate business to requirements and vice-versa.
  • Project management, risk control, management of change are required skills.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration, or similar.
  • Masters degree or advanced certification preferred.
